 Alain Delon. He
became the theater magnet of French Film and starred in over 80 movies. His cinematic
achievements always have one thing in common: an impressive commitment to his art. Alain
Delon is undeniably one of the most handsome actors that has ever graced the silver
screen. He is also one of the most talented. He can say more with his eyes than most
actors can with two hours of dialogue. In his career he has worked with some of the best
European directors, such as René Clément, Luchino Visconti, Michelangelo Antonioni,
Louis Malle, Jean-Pierre Melville and Jean-Luc Godard, giving brilliant performances that
are timeless and thought provoking. His acting abilities have often been dismissed by
critics who can't seem to see past his extraordinary visage or comprehend his wordless
performances, but his contribution to cinema should not be ignored. Alain Delon is
undoubtedly one of the most influential and outstanding actors of his generation.

Recently Alain Delon co-starred in Une chance sur deux (aka ”Half a Chance“)
with his long time friend and co-star, Jean-Paul Belmondo. Unfortunately, it seems that
the film has not been as successful as they had hoped and in March of last year Delon
proclaimed on German television that he was not going to be making any more films.
Hopefully Alain Delon will reconsider his statement and continue working in the cinema.
His films have inspired many of modern cinema’s greatest directors, such as Martin
Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Walter Hill and John Woo. His talents as an actor are not
gone and with the right director and script, Delon could work magic.
