Luciano Pavarotti. With
his global relief project Pavarotti & Friends he has helped people in need
and provides support for the victims of war and violence.He is a tireless
charity fundraiser, often turning from classical music to rock and pop, uniting different
musical worlds to provide support for victims of war and violence be it in
Cambodia, Bosnia, Liberia, Kosovo, Tibet or Guatemala with a global relief project:
Pavarotti & Friends. For these unique events, Luciano Pavarotti has been joined by
some of the best-known international artists from the worlds of rock, pop and jazz,
including Bon Jovi, U2, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Elton John, Ricky Martin, George
Michael, the Spice Girls and Sting.
The great tenor has thereby created a worldwide platform to help people in need.
Pavarotti & Friends 2001 raised funds for educational and medical projects for
children in Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan. In May 2001 the UNHCR presented the tenor
with the coveted Nansen Award in recognition of his work for charity.

singer and throughout his extraordinary career, Pavarottis impact on the world of

numbers of new fans to his art, his compelling voice and unique personality have
fascinated people throughout the world. Luciano Pavarotti is the most popular artist in
