| WORLD AWARDS are part of the global initiative
Mens World Day which is based on social, humanitarian and philanthropic principles
and supports the causes of peace, freedom and tolerance throughout the world in order to
change the attitudes, the image and the role of men in society. War and violence are still
the domains of men and it is therefore our goal to change the attitudes of men. Every year
the WORLD AWARDS are presented to individuals who have had a positive impact on our world. |
 |
| Men Against Violence.
On Mens World Day 2001 the initiative Men Against Violence was
established. It is intended to provide a platform for people to work together in order to
propagate freedom and demonstrate resolve against violence and terror and, through
international campaigns, promote the cause of peace throughout the world. |
|
| War in Iraq. Violence
can never be the solution to any problem. In light of the recent war in Iraq and continued
conflicts in the Middle East, this initiative has become more relevant than ever. The
World Awards helps people around the world become more aware. |
|
| World Peace Conference.
The current world situation is the reason that the fourth annual World Awards in Hamburg
will include a WORLD PEACE CONFERENCE at the City Hall. A host of internationally renowned
personalities and experts are invited by President Gorbachev and Mayor Ole von Beust of
Hamburg to discuss a variety of important global issues. |
|
The next steps.
In 2003 Womens World Day was established, a global initiative dedicated to building
a better future for all women. The right to education, the same job opportunities as men
and the freedom of family planning are some of the initiatives priorities. Women
still suffer from violence and oppression. |
